Amazon Auto car accessory that ‘adds Alexa to your car’ now £30 off on sale

A popular car accessory that lets you use Alexa in your car has been reduced by £30 in a limited-time deal on Amazon.

The Echo Auto Second Generation has been reduced by 50 per cent on Amazon, from £59.99 to £29.99 – a total saving of £30.

This small device is designed to enable Alexa hands-free features, such as music, calling, text messaging and more, for cars that don’t have a built-in voice assistant. You can ask Alexa to stream playlists from Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify and more, or listen to live radio stations.

You can also use just your voice to make calls, reply to a text, check in on Alexa devices in your home, or send out announcements. The Echo Auto is also built with multiple layers of privacy controls, including a Microphone Off button to electronically disconnect the microphones.

Shoppers have praised this little gadget as “absolutely brilliant” and a super handy device to use during a car journey.

One happy customer wrote: “After trying a few different combinations for hands-free calling in my car, which doesn’t have Bluetooth, I thought I’d give this a try. It’s absolutely brilliant. It took two minutes to install and it is so compact. I just put it behind the steering wheel in front of the dashboard and it doesn’t hide anything. Now that I get in the car, it connects immediately. And I can listen to the news on Spotify and play my Apple music silence the ultra clear calls. For anyone driving an old car and in the same situation, as long as you have the additional report, I wouldn’t hesitate on this.”

Another added: “A breeze to install, unobtrusive and works really well. I was a little concerned about data usage – even though I have a short trip, the hours total over a month – but it barely uses anything .I used less than 2 GB of data for a month (5 days/week). A recent trip of over 2 hours used less than half a gig. I get in the car, wait about 10 seconds for the ping and say Alexa play (whatever) and it just connects, had a few dropouts during the 2 hour trip, but reconnected fairly quickly as it depends on your phone network.”

A third said: “The Echo Car took me about three minutes to set up and worked for a while. I’ve used it to play music, get directions, call people and even send text messages, all without having to stop and park because you need to touch the phone.

“Absolutely brilliant – buy one!”

And a fourth commented: “My wife asked for this and I installed it in her car. She loves it and uses it all the time, but it’s worth noting that it’s actually just a remote control for the Alexa app on your phone. So it only works if you remember that the app is running on your phone. It can be in the background, but it has to be open. For me that would be a pain, but she’s fine with it.
